frontcamera (frontcamera.co.za) is published by Sociaal (Pty) Ltd. We write about the business of being a creator in South Africa: pricing, tax, platforms, brand deals and the rest. This page explains what that writing is, and what it isn't.

General information, not advice

Everything on frontcamera, including articles, the newsletter, calculators and downloadable templates, is general information. It isn't financial, tax, legal or investment advice, and it doesn't take your circumstances into account. Before you act on anything that affects your money, tax or contracts, speak to a qualified professional: a registered tax practitioner for tax, an attorney for contracts.

Accuracy

We check our facts and cite our sources, and every article shows when it was published or last updated. Rules, rates and platform policies change, though, and something that was right when we wrote it may not be right when you read it. Always check the original source, especially SARS's own publications for anything to do with tax. If you spot an error, tell us at hello@frontcamera.co.za and we'll fix it.

Tools and downloads

Our calculators give estimates based on the published data and assumptions they explain on the page. Our templates, like the PR gift ledger, are record-keeping aids: where a template suggests how something might be treated, it follows the general rule in the source it cites and is not a ruling on your situation. They're provided free and as they are. You're responsible for checking the results and for anything you submit, including your tax return.

Links and Sociaal

We link to other sites so you can check our sources. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for what's on them. frontcamera is a Sociaal publication: where we mention or link to Sociaal, we say so.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Sociaal (Pty) Ltd isn't liable for any loss that comes from relying on information, tools or templates on frontcamera. Nothing on this page limits rights you have under South African law that can't be limited.
